Missy Turner grew up in the mountains of Ogden, Utah. She skipped about the mountain and gully playing fairies, mermaids, orphans, or wizards. When she wasn’t adventuring, she was drawing magical creatures on lined paper with freshly sharpened colored pencils.
After a few years trying out more “serious” college majors, as well as dabbling in culinary arts, Missy finally decided to study something she genuinely enjoyed. So she signed up for classes in Graphic Design and Illustration at Salt Lake Community College. And surprise… she loved it!
Since college, Missy has done freelance illustration as well as illustration and graphic design for American Crafts. It was there that she discovered her love of pattern making.
Besides illustrating digitally, she enjoys drawing with pencil, colored pencil, and acrylic paints. If there’s an opportunity to put a face on something, she’ll do it, because even boring flavors of ice cream deserve a smile! Missy also enjoys coming up with adventurous little stories and hopes to one day illustrate books she has written herself.
Missy currently lives in Ogden with her husband Kyle.
