Lisa Reed has been drawing pictures since she was old enough to hold a crayon. She moved on to pencils, oil painting, watercolour, and other mediums. She currently creates all her illustrations first as hand drawn pencil sketches, then digitally colours the final artwork using Photoshop or Illustrator.
She has worked as a professional artist since graduating from college with a degree in Studio Art. She began her career as a graphic artist for screen print companies, then moved into book illustration, and has been illustrating children’s books for most of her long freelance career.
Lisa has illustrated well over one hundred books, including licensed products such as VeggieTales, Berenstain Bears, Frosty the Snowman, and many more, plus original board books in various styles, novelty, educational, instructional, and activity books, plus designs for children’s toys, puzzles, and games, and themed and seasonal art collections.
She loves to incorporate fun and humour into her artwork, and can work in many different styles to fit a variety of clients project needs.
She gets to draw and colour and create all day in her home studio, while watching the wildlife fly and swim by on the lake outside her window. She also loves reading, chai tea, watching movies, and anything science fiction, and has traveled to almost all fifty states, and several European countries.
She currently lives in Noblesville, Indiana, working as a full time freelance artist.
