Suzie grew up in the English countryside. She loved drawing as a child but left it behind to pursue a scientific path, studying astrophysics and then medical imaging at university. Whilst she loved learning about these fields, by her mid-twenties she found herself in a rut, unable to find a job that was fulfilling and felt like something was missing.
On a whim she picked up an iPad and decided to learn digital art purely for fun, and instantly fell head over heels in love with the medium. Soon she was spending every spare moment teaching herself to make the stylized, brightly colored, textured art that made her heart sing.
In a few short years she was creating work that gained her private and commercial commissions, and dared to call herself an illustrator, dreaming of making happy, colorful art full time. To her delight she was signed to the Bright Agency and landed a celebrity book publication almost immediately, which went on to become a New York Times #1 bestseller! Over the last four years she has illustrated twenty picture books as well as greetings cards, book covers and editorial pieces, with numerous bestsellers.
She recently made a move back to the rural countryside with her husband, where they welcomed their little boy to their family. Now she works from home in a small English cottage, drawing the beauty of the surrounding natural world to make charming, gentle illustrations. Every new piece is a new challenge and a privilege to draw.
