Born in Cheshire Gillian studied Fine Art at the university of Newcastle upon Tyne before moving to London where she established her illustration practice. Fifteen years later she slowly began to move Northwards, via Yorkshire to Scotland and after a three year stint in the remote west highlands she has settled in the Scottish Borders which she loves.
Gillian’s style is bold and colourful, very graphic and mostly conceptual. In recent years she has begun to introduce hand drawn texture into her work and is enjoying a return to brushes and paint.
She has worked for many clients including the Guardian, The Economist, Waitrose, Penguin, Random House and the London Natural History Museum.
