Raquel Marín is a Spanish graphic designer with a love of typography. Her illustrations are full of letters which she herself designs, alongside clean imagery and detailed hand-drawn elements. She has designed book covers, magazines, cans, logos, wine bottles, chocolate boxes and more. By mixing illustration and typography, she provides her designs with a unique and distinctive touch, and creates messages with a great visual impact.

Bright Artist Hannah Clair started her illustration career in 2019 after graduating with a BA Hons in illustration and Animation, and this year saw the release of her first professional project; an animated music video for Pomplamoose Music. Hannah did the art and the direction for the video, collaborating with animator David Scott Kessler to create the beautiful visuals for the track Invisible People. We caught up with her to find out about her work and process, and what it was like to work on this project.

This month CBeebies released a Christmas Special - Christmas in Storyland, featuring artwork by four of our very talented artists here at Bright. Viola Wang, Jennie Poh, Greg Stobbs and Petronela Dostalova worked on the stunning backgrounds for this beautiful Christmas fairytale, providing a wonderfully varied and magical world for the characters to explore.

Claire Wilson is a surface pattern designer and illustrator with a background in product packaging and greetings cards. She has worked with a number of companies, including Dunelm and Avon, with her designs being used across a wide variety of products, including nursery and children’s bedding, home textiles, dinnerware, stationery and gifting as well as nightwear apparel. She finds inspiration everywhere, from simple everyday household objects to all things bright and beautiful outside. We caught up with Claire to find out what goes into designing for product packaging.

Originally trained as an architect, Bright Artist El Primo Ramón’s illustration career started from his work in graphic design and architecture, evolving until he was able to become a full-time illustrator. He now works on projects ranging from publishing, editorial, branding and design, with clients including Usborne Publishing, BBC-CBeebies, VCCP London and Pearson.

For over ten years, Bright Artist Lucia Catellani has worked as an illustrator and graphic designer creating brand identities and packaging design for clients that include food and drink, restaurants, retail, hotels, apparel and digital. As well as traditional and digital illustration, Lucia also excels at hand lettering and typography, often combing text and image to create a strong brand identity.

Fotini Tikkou has collaborated with Anthropologie to create a trio of handpainted stonewear mugs featuring Fontini’s stylistic and creative designs. Fotini makes ceramics in her studio in Athens, using whimsical faces and bold patterns to produce individual and unique pieces. Anthropologie commissioned three designs from her, which they then produced large-scale for sale across their stores.

Bright Artist Colleen Lamour has partnered with My Karma Klub to design a range of cute and colourful t-shirts, as well as designing their distinctive rainbow logo. My Karma Klub was founded to give shoppers fashion statement pieces with a bit of a twist, and the t-shirts are sold at Pride events and online, with a portion of the sale going to LGBTQ+ charities.
