Masumi Furukawa
Masumi Furukawa was born in Nagoya of Japan and working as an illustrator of children’s books in Tokyo. After she graduated in Literature at University in Nagoya, she went to Italy and studied painting, glass art ,children’s book illustration etc at art schools in Italy. Since her first book was published in Malaysia in 2003, she illustrated many children’s books including her stories in UK, USA, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan etc and selected in the Bologna book Fair illustration competition in 2009. Her illustrated books are “Bears” (Usborne Publishing), “Growing Green” (Lion Hudson) “Johnny Appleseed” (Scholastic USA), “Thank you Gen-san” (Doshin-sha) etc. Her hobbies are going on trips, cooking, playing the classical guitar, going to the zoo and playing with her cat. Through her books she hopes to provide a memorable message and to help enjoy the imaginary world.
