Octavia Bromell, better known as Tink, is an illustrator and mental health advocate based in rural England. After years struggling with depression and anxiety, Tink now gives talks all over the world on the positive impact creativity can have on all our lives. This overflows into her work, which is bright, and fun, often examining the oddities of being a human.

Tink works from a shepherd’s hut studio in the Dorset countryside, with her rescue springer spaniel, Willie, and fluffy but fierce cat, Betty. She takes direct inspiration from the flora and fauna just outside her studio, favouring lovely plants, and strong, interesting people. Working digitally with hand painted textures and details, her style reflects a positive outlook on an often challenging world. Tink is this year’s Adobe Creative Resident for the UK. Her clients include Apple, Moleskine, Chronicle Books and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

  • Octavia just started a positive, illustrated newsletter. Once a week, I send out good things the wonderful people of the world are doing, along with uplifting quotes, a pet of the week, and creative ways to get through lockdown.
  • Octavia is speaking at the 99U conference in June this year, which has just been announced to be completely digital, and totally free for all attendees.
