Lucia Catellani is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, based in Reggio Emilia, in the middle of the Italian food valley. After studying for her BA in Visual Art in Venice, she went on to complete an MA in Graphic Design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, where - besides enjoying the super creative London life - she started investigating the world of food, which she looks at from an ordinary, aesthetic and convivial point of view.

Lucia has been working on branding and packaging projects for restaurants, shops, farms and festivals for almost a decade, always seeking to create unique visual identities while developing her illustrative voice. She draws primarily on digital media, often with an analog touch that incorporates hand lettering and textures.

She finds inspiration in the beauty of ordinary things, like the interiors of her renewed home and studio, the rituals of a shared meal, the colours and shapes in nature. She likes cooking, collecting plants and children’s books, cycling in the city, live music and travelling as much as she can.
