After a degree in Modern Languages and a spell as a bookseller, Amy spent over 10 years working in foreign rights at a variety of publishers and literary agencies. Starting her career in illustrated non-fiction she developed an eye for beautiful design and illustration before discovering her true passion – children’s books!

She hasn’t looked back since then, selling translation rights for authors including Terry Pratchett, Shirley Hughes, Michael Bond and Suzanne Collins, and is delighted to now find herself representing Bright’s talented artists around the world.

“I really think that Amy is a very good agent, and I hope she keeps giving me good projects in the future. She manages clients, budgets and briefs well, and always has nice comments when I send roughs or artwork.” – Sr. Sánchez

Amy:

“It has been an incredibly exciting time since I joined Bright nine months ago. The worldwide focus of my role means no two projects are the same and I love the diversity of working in multiple time zones and languages, discovering the different trends, tastes and tendencies of readers in different territories.

“I am particularly drawn to expressive, colourful and character-driven artwork across the commercial spectrum, as well as children’s literary fiction and humour, and am at my happiest in a good bookshop. Seeing the artists I represent grow in confidence and skill as they create books for children around the world to enjoy is very rewarding and I feel extremely lucky to work in an industry I feel so passionately about.”
