Having been born into a booky, doodly sort of household, Ada spent her childhood lying on the floor, doodling and surrounded by books.
She always knew she wanted to be a children’s book illustrator and worked in educational books after studying illustration at college. Moving to a design company gave her many years experience creating brands and designing everything from stationery to plush toys. With Vicki Willden Lebrecht’s confidence, she then took a leap of faith, and has finally realised her picture book ambition with Bright.
Ada uses everything she can get her hands on to work, paper, pencils, sploshy paints and splashy inks, scanned in fabrics and textures, and mixes them all together in her Apple Mac cauldron.
Ada has worked on several books for Bloomsbury, notably the Royal Baby series, and also with Little Tiger Press, Egmont and Macmillan, and is looking forward to working on her own texts alongside commissioned picture books and creating further brands.
She lives by the sea in Brighton with her daughter and ginger tom, Tiger.
