Nikki Upsher is a designer specialising in illustration and surface pattern. She lives near Bath in the UK with her two adorable Greek rescue dogs.

Nikki always aspired to work in the creative industry from an early age. She graduated with a Fashion Degree and learnt her trade over the next 10 years working as a fashion buyer where she was fortunate to travel to many different countries.

Following that she worked as a Design Manager, visiting the Pitti Filati show in Florence yearly to research the trends. At that time she was responsible for designing the fashion range and presenting it to the UK retailers.

In 2006 Nikki then decided on a career change and she retrained in graphic design. During this time she set up a children’s design business and sold artwork on notonthehighstreet.com. In 2010 she moved to Yorkshire to work for UK Greetings as a card designer. This was when Nikki fell in love with illustration, surface pattern and character design and she found her idea job!

With a yearning to get back to her roots, in November 2014 Nikki moved back to the West Country and started to freelance. She has worked for quite a few well known retailers including: Mattel, Macy’s, Hallmark, American Greetings, Papyrus, UK Greetings, WH Smith, Garven Design Group, Monsoon, Ted Baker, Hobbs, John Lewis, Boden, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Paperchase and Frugi.
