Kinchoi Lam


Kinchoi Lam is an artist and picturebook creator from Hong Kong. His illustrations are selected for World Illustration Awards 2020, Illustrator Exhibition of Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2020 and Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrator Competition 2019. His debut picture book Little Big Tram was the bestselling children’s book of the year in Hong Kong in 2018.

Kinchoi graduated in MA Children’s Book Illustration from the Cambridge School of Art. His art mainly focuses on the intimate aspects of our daily life, while seeking elements of mystery. Kinchoi believes in the power of reading. By making picture-books, he wants to provide doors for young readers to adventure and imagine. Pencil, ink and printmaking are his primary drawing tools, whilst for some other works he tends to use Photoshop to compose, collage and add details.
