Kaly is an illustrator based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She’s a 4th generation Texan freshly minted in the mountains out west. She grew up on a farm and still enjoys combing for old bottles, coins, and obscure tidbits on her family’s land. That sense of wonder and exploration influences her current work, which blends imaginary escapes with playful details. She studied Interior Design and Art in college and her love for architecture, collage, and branding gives her work a graphic appeal. Kaly works digitally, using shapes and loose textures to create rich illustrations with vibrant colors. An avid collector and history lover, she often adds bits of vintage ephemera and clippings from years past in her work. She also scans in analog ink blobs, marks, and imperfect, hand-drawn letters. When she’s not drawing with a cat in her lap, she’s poking around auctions and estate sales, skiing, hiking, and hosting one-woman pastry eating contests for herself.
