Eva Katinka Bognar

Éva-Katinka Bognár is an illustrator and animation artist from Budapest, Hungary.

After getting her animation MA degree from MOME, she started out as director with her award-winning animated short for children, Hugo Bumfeldt.

A passion for books and storytelling led her towards children’s book illustration, and she continued working in both fields. She has designed, illustrated and directed projects for publishers, indie game developers, animation studios, museum exhibitions, advertising agencies, and national television channels. She also teaches at MOME’s animation programme, holds lectures and workshops home and abroad, and has been part of many film festival juries.

Working from her small home studio next to a historical city park, she enjoys drawing (and befriending) animals, creating quirky, whimsical, yet friendly characters, and exploring magical worlds in her artwork.

She fuels her imagination by visiting museums and exhibitions, reading, travelling, and cinema.
