Reuben McHugh


Reuben McHugh is a British illustrator whose work has become renowned for it’s whimsical characters and stunning technique. Reuben works in a wide range of media and styles, from lose water colour to highly detailed painting and contemporary digital graphics.

Some of his early influences where his favourite childhood books by Richard Scarry and Dr Seuss, His career as an illustrator started over 20 years ago in a greeting card company where Reuben’s passion for illustration really took off. Reuben has worked on a wide range of products for some of the top design led retailers and manufacturers in the greeting card and gift industry. His work has often been sold in variety of outlets such as Harrods, Lakeland and Cards for Good Causes.

He has worked on products such as…3 Denominational paper engineering, Greeting card ranges, Christmas decoration themes, Confectionery tin design, Children’s book Illustration and many more.

As an artist Reuben is always on the look out for new innovative ways to amuse and delight through his work and he enjoys the challenge of tackling new techniques and styles. He puts a lot of thought and care into his work in the hope that it brings more than just a moment of joy when it’s seen…. Something to treasure perhaps?
